Lída Baarová (1914–2000) was a Czech film actress who rose to fame in German cinema during the 1930s. Her affair with Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels cast a long shadow over her life. After the war she faced ostracism and lived in exile, mainly in Italy and Spain.
