Petr Kotvald (born 8 July 1959, Žatec) is a Czech singer, actor, dancer and music producer. In the early 1980s, as one half of the duo Kotvald & Hložek within Karel Vágner's orchestra, he became one of the biggest names in Czechoslovak pop - their 1983 hit Holky z naší školky sold over a million copies and remains one of the most-played Czech songs ever. Since 1986 he has pursued a solo career with his band Trik, releasing dozens of albums and performing nearly 4,000 concerts.
On Kotvald's website, a new chanson project Edith and Jean was presented - a tribute to Edith Piaf and Jean Cocteau, with poet Pavel Cmíral and composer Martin Blažek collaborating on the texts.
