Deafheaven
American metal band Deafheaven performs at the Brutal Assault 2026 festival.
Deafheaven are an American blackgaze band from San Francisco, formed in 2010 by vocalist George Clarke and guitarist Kerry McCoy. Their 2013 album Sunbather became one of the most critically acclaimed and debated metal records of the decade, fusing black metal blast beats with shoegaze atmospherics in a way that divided purists and won over listeners far outside the metal world. Their sixth album, Lonely People With Power (2025, Roadrunner Records), is widely regarded as their heaviest and most cohesive work yet.
Deafheaven confirmed an extensive European tour in summer 2026, starting on July 22 in Vienna and ending on August 29 in Malaga - the program includes the festivals Wacken Open Air, Hills of Rock, and Brutal Assault.
The magazine Consequence awarded Deafheaven the title Heavy Band of the Year 2025 for the album Lonely People With Power.
Deafheaven released their sixth studio album Lonely People With Power on March 28, 2025 on Roadrunner Records - their first for this label.
The band announced 25 North American concerts for spring 2025 and simultaneously revealed the first single 'Magnolia' from the upcoming album.
Deafheaven signed a contract with Roadrunner Records, thereby beginning a new chapter in their career.
