Alcest is a French band from Avignon, founded in 2000 by Neige (Stéphane Paut), who blends shoegaze, dream pop and black metal into a distinctive atmospheric sound. Albums such as Écailles de Lune (2010) and Shelter (2014) brought them international recognition. Their music is dreamy and introspective, rooted in Neige's childhood visions of an otherworldly realm.
