The Art Nouveau building of the Municipal Theatre has stood in Mariánské Lázně since 1868 - before the foundation stone of Prague's National Theatre was even laid. Designed by local builder Friedrich Zickler in a Neo-Renaissance style, it was remodelled in Art Nouveau in 1905 and fully restored in 2007-2008. The theatre has never had a resident company; it hosts touring productions, concerts across all genres, and the annual Chopin Festival. The auditorium seats 326.
