About

Miroslav Beinhauer (born 1993, Ostrava) is a Czech pianist and the world's only known player of Alois Hába's sixth-tone harmonium, a microtonal instrument from the 1930s held at the Czech Museum of Music. He focuses on 20th- and 21st-century repertoire, collaborating with composers such as Georg Friedrich Haas, Phill Niblock and Klaus Lang, and performing with ensembles from the PKF - Prague Philharmonia to the international Ostravská Banda. He trained at the Janáček Academy in Brno, the Vienna University of Music and the Royal Conservatoire of Ghent.

    Supraphon announced that Beinhauer was a guest on the Naxos Classical Spotlight podcast in July 2025, where he spoke about his project with Hába's music.

    In April 2025, Supraphon released Beinhauer's double album with the first recording of the complete piano works of Alois Hába written in the standard semitone system.

    Operaplus.cz published an extensive interview with Beinhauer, in which the pianist explains his approach to contemporary music and rejection of the mainstream.
