About: Vypsaná fixa

The Czech punk-pop band Vypsaná fiXa has been based in Pardubice since 1994. Frontman Michal Mareda, performing as Márdi, creates surrealist and poetic compositions drawing inspiration from William Saroyan and Gabriel García Márquez. Throughout more than three decades, the band has released eleven studio albums and established itself as a mainstay of the Czech live music scene.

About: Pavel Čadek

Born on 28 December 1989 in Brno, Pavel Čadek is a Czech singer-songwriter whose distinctive approach involves accompanying his vocals with cello. He describes this self-created genre, which he terms cellofolk, as a fusion between Jaromír Nohavica and Apocalyptica. Though educated in theoretical computer science at Masaryk University, he ultimately pursued music as his primary profession. Among his four studio albums, Stepní vlk (2023) earned a shortlist nomination for the Anděl Award in the folk category.
