About the venue: Areál textilky Slezan

The Slezan textile factory complex in Frýdek-Místek is an industrial brownfield housed in the former Neumann brothers' spinning mill, whose roots go back to 1868. After the nationalisation and merger of the local textile plants, the site operated under the Slezan brand and at its peak employed up to five thousand people. Since May 2026 it has been open to the public as the Nová Osmička cultural and community centre, hosting concerts, exhibitions, festivals, an open-air cinema and sports events.

About: Tyč on the Beach

Pavlína Podzimková and Tomáš Brt are Czech performers from Cirk La Putyka whose debut joint project centres on two custom-built, interconnected Chinese poles that double as an aerial rig. The thirty-minute outdoor show pairs technically demanding acrobatics with light-hearted humour and a summery beach atmosphere.

The performance was included in the program of the Letní Letná festival in Prague as a free open-air production.

Tyč on the Beach was included in the New Circus Showcase for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, which the New Circus Association initiated in 2025.
