Like in a Cage

An original comedy by the Propadlo theatre ensemble from Václavovice, set in an unspecified time when the world is gripped by the Hydron pandemic. We follow the life of the Frgál family, who spend all their time in a closed apartment of a tenement house - though it is far from an oasis of peace and quiet. In the second part of the play, Professor Zrno arrives with a groundbreaking discovery that could completely eradicate the pandemic, and surprisingly, the people of Ostrava and the Frgál family play a crucial role in saving humanity.

The play uses humour to showcase the character of Ostrava and helps change its image in the eyes of Prague. At the same time, it pokes fun at ecological issues, Prague-centric attitudes, and deeply rooted stereotypes and prejudices about our region.
