Jana Kirschner and Robert Balzar Trio perform on Friday, 2 October 2026 at the Akord cultural centre in Ostrava-Zábřeh. This is a charity concert, with proceeds going to Charity Ostrava. The Akord building, designed in socialist realist style in 1959, became an important cultural venue after its 2013-2015 renovation. Ostrava is one of four Czech dates on the tour that Kirschner is undertaking with Balzar's trio. The concert takes place at náměstí SNP in the heart of the district.

About the venue: Akord, Ostrava-Zábřeh

The Akord cultural centre in Ostrava-Zábřeh has stood since 1959, designed by the studio of Jiří Kroha in the socialist realist style; together with the surrounding buildings on náměstí SNP it forms a notable architectural ensemble. A major renovation completed in 2013-2015 transformed it into a modern congress and events venue with capacity for up to 1,000 visitors. The programme covers theatre, concerts, balls and courses, and in summer the outdoor Letní zahrada hosts the traditional Prázdniny v Akordu festival. The complex also includes three halls, seven salons, a restaurant and a three-star hotel.

Jana Kirschner (born 29 December 1978, Martin) is a Slovak singer-songwriter whose work has defined the trajectory of Slovak popular music since 1996. The album V cudzom meste (1999) marked a turning point in her career and was subsequently recognised as one of the 100 greatest Slovak albums in history. Her extended partnership with producer Eddie Stevens has progressively shifted her aesthetic from pop through alternative rock to folk-electronic textures, most prominently on the Moruša diptych (2013-2014) and the album Obyčajnosti (2024).
