Michal Malátný brings the Vetešnictví Petra Hapky project to Plzeň on Wednesday, 16 December 2026 at Měšťanská beseda. This neoclassical building with Art Nouveau decoration, erected in 1901, ranks among the city's most significant cultural venues. The concert presents composer Petra Hapky's music from the 1960s and 1970s performed by Czech and Slovak musicians. This is one of two Czech dates for the project. The evening offers a chance to explore Hapky's poetic sensibility and hear both well-known and lesser-known songs that shaped Czech film and popular music.

About the venue: Měšťanská Beseda

Měšťanská beseda is a Neo-Renaissance building with Art Nouveau décor, erected by the Pilsen citizens' association in 1901 and ceremonially opened on 29 December of that year. Following an extensive renovation completed in 2005, it serves as one of the most important cultural centres in Pilsen. The venue houses several halls and salons, the Beseda Cinema, the Jonáš Theatre and an Art Nouveau café, with a total capacity of over 1,000 persons. Concerts, theatre performances, balls, film screenings, festivals, lectures and children's events take place here almost daily. The building is a listed cultural monument and received the Building of the Year 2005 award.
