Performers: SILENTIUM! ensemble

The festive finale of the 20th season of the festival celebrates Spanish Renaissance music - specifically the ensalada genre, whose master was composer Mateo Flecha the Elder. Ensaladas are compositions that blend sacred Advent and Christmas themes with secular folk songs, alternating between Spanish, Catalan, Italian, and Latin while combining polyphony with dance rhythms.

The resident ensemble SILENTIUM! ensemble, led by Tereza Válková, will perform with period instruments in the Stone Hall of Třebíč Castle.

About: SILENTIUM! ensemble

Founded in 2025 by Tereza Válková after her sixteen years with Czech Ensemble Baroque, the ensemble quickly established itself at leading Czech festivals. It performs Renaissance-to-Classicism repertoire on period instruments and regularly presents world premieres of forgotten Baroque works.

In the 2026 season, the ensemble presents world premieres of works from the Kroměřížský Archive (Vejvanovský, Rittler, Sances) under the baton of Tomáš Netopil at the Smetanova Litomyšl and MHF Leoše Janáčka festivals and is preparing a CD recording for a prestigious world label.

The ensemble participates in the Coronation Concert for the 400th anniversary of the Habsburgs under the direction of countertenor Andreas Scholl in Znojmo, Brno, and at Prague Castle.
