In the Exhibition for an Hour: Czechoslovak Architecture of the Second Half of the 20th Century — Trade Fair Palace, Prague

A guided tour of the exhibition "1956-1989: Architecture for All" at the Trade Fair Palace. Art historian Karel Dudr will present the major buildings of socialist Czechoslovakia - the EXPO 58 pavilion, the Ještěd transmitter tower, and the Thermal hotel. The tour will cover residential complexes, corporate buildings, and how people exercised and relaxed in the 1970s and 1980s. The basic principles of Brutalist and Brussels styles will be explained.

The "In the Exhibition for an Hour" series offers a quick overview of the entire exhibition: with a lecturer or curator, visitors will walk through the main sections and gain a foundational understanding that helps orient them in the space and themes.
