Blues Night is a concert featuring three bands, organized by Jazz Club Slaný as part of the off-programme of the 59th Slaný Jazz Days.
Strange Majik (NYC, USA) – soul / funk / blues / indie rock
Strange Majik is the musical alter ego of David Pattillo, who blends blues, rock, and 1970s soul music into modern songs with a classic touch. New York's Deli Magazine called him a "cult hero of blues rock", and London's Shindig Magazine named him an "icon of NYC".
Janny Richter (CZ) – discobilly / electro-americana / post-punk pop
Award-winning composer for the series Metoda Markovič: Hojer, he merges country blues, Americana, and 1980s electronics into electro-boogie with a rock'n'roll heart. He is often called the "illegitimate child" of Iggy Pop and Depeche Mode.
Band of Heysek (CZ) – blues rock / dirty blues
A raw blues trio from Brno rooted in the spirit of northern Mississippi blues. Since their debut album Shovel & Mattock (2017), they have collaborated with Mississippi blues legends R.L. Boyce and Kenny Brown, recording two albums with them in the USA (2019). In 2025 they returned to Mississippi to record the album Sticky Ricky, which was released in early 2026 on Indies Scope.
The event is realized with financial support from the Central Bohemian Region, the city of Slaný, and the Czech Ministry of Culture.
