About

Band of Heysek is a blues-rock trio from Brno, Czech Republic, active since 2015, with Jan Švihálek on guitar, vocals and harmonica, Lukáš Kytnar on drums, and Mojmír Sabolovič on bass. They write and play their own raw, Mississippi-rooted blues, debuting with Shovel & Mattock in 2017. The band has recorded in the American South alongside Grammy-nominated R. L. Boyce and Kenny Brown, and their sixth album Sticky Ricky (2026) features Grammy winner Charlie Musselwhite.

    The band released their sixth album Sticky Ricky (Indies Scope) on March 13, 2026, recorded at Browns Parn Potts Camp in Mississippi.

    The album Sticky Ricky features guest guitarists Kenny Brown and Duwayne Burnside, keyboardist Omer Blentić, and harmonica player Charlie Musselwhite, who recorded his part on an iPhone during a tour in Mexico.
