Band of Heysek is a blues-rock trio from Brno, Czech Republic, formed in 2015, consisting of Jan Švihálek (guitar, vocals, harmonica), Lukáš Kytnar (drums) and Mojmír Sabolovič (bass). They play raw, original blues rooted in the Mississippi hill country tradition, debuting with Shovel & Mattock (2017). The band has collaborated with Mississippi bluesmen R. L. Boyce and Kenny Brown, and released the album Sticky Ricky (2026) featuring Grammy-winner Charlie Musselwhite.
Three bands with distinct approaches to rock will perform at Kabinet múz during the Maraton hudby Brno festival. Kolektivní Halucinace, Dead Dog Legacy, and Band of Heysek deliver blues, alternative, and electronic sounds.
