Janny Richter + Housekeepers
An energetic fusion of Americana, post-punk and 1980s electro, where rock'n'roll boldness meets dance energy.
"Janny Richter is a beautiful example of how pursuing your dream has a good chance of working out." - Full Moon
Janny Richter is a frontman, musical visionary and composer of the soundtrack to the series Metoda Markovič: Hojer, for which he won the main prize at the Soundtrack Poděbrady festival in 2025. His music moves between country blues, Americana, indie rock and electropop - raw rock'n'roll energy collides with electronics and 1980s pop. His current album Discobilly takes this approach to its logical conclusion, and Richter himself describes it as a manifesto of his own musical direction.
Since 2015 he has performed in clubs and at festivals at home and abroad. Moimir Papalescu summed it up: "Like Bob Dylan who could work with synthesizers." Michal Kořán added: "Elvis meets Depeche Mode here."
Housekeepers is a Czech-Irish duo of Adéla Polka (vocals) and Will O'Connor (synthesizers, guitar). The project was born during English lessons and collaborative songwriting - recordings were made in kitchens, the mix was handled by Will O'Connor, and mastering by American sound engineer Carl Saff. Their electronic pop draws from everyday domestic reality and treats it with both irony and emotion.
The duo made their live debut in 2023 at Kumst in Brno and have since performed at events such as Olodvorek, MikuLOVE, Uničovská muzejní noc, Potulný dělník and ObrFest. Will O'Connor spent ten years as a musician and sound engineer in Galway, Ireland. Adéla Polka is a singer and songwriter for the Brno band Plum Dumplings, a poet, publicist and winner of the songwriting competition at Beseda u Bigbítu 2022.
