Staged Reading Vyhubyt — Klubovna Jeden Tag / Nibiru Gallery, Ostrava

How do financial and housing insecurity affect our sense of existential threat and humiliation?
How far can this go?
And you still want to live in that cramped hole? In that stinking one-plus-one with a kitchenette and a moldy bathtub?
Do you have housing? And could I see it?
Welcome to the world of the housing crisis. On the battlefield of self-esteem, where the desire to live becomes a "territorial struggle for living space". Who ranks higher in the hierarchy – hustlers with apartments or corporate bosses? And who will emerge victorious in this fight for survival?
Poverty is just a series of bad life decisions. Or is it?

The staged reading Vyhubyt opens a discussion through Rálíš's text about the impacts of the housing crisis at both the individual and societal level.

It presents it as a constant struggle on the playing field of contemporary neoliberal society, which leaves its mark on relationships, self-worth, attitudes toward the future, and the desire to start families. The frenzied pace of the real estate market and the need to climb the career ladder clash with the limits of overcrowding and the inability to secure sufficient resources for dignified existence. The hysterical search for anything affordable is complicated not only by the hysteria of the real estate agent, but also by the unexpected arrival of a child.
