Over 2,000 visitors toured Hotel Medlov in 2024 and 2025. In 2026, tours with owner Jan Piskora are available again — a total of 2 × 45 minutes dedicated to stories, architectural highlights, and places normally closed to the public.
The first part, MEDLOV FUNCTIONALIST, focuses on the functionalist building from 1934, built to designs by architects Pavel Smetana and Alois Wachsman — the only surviving structure from their joint work. The stories of this period are connected to the original owners Leoš and Aglaia Stehlík and personalities from their circle. Writer Jan Drda called this place in his texts "Medlov — paradise rediscovered".
The second part, MEDLOV BRUSSELS STYLE, presents the building from 1974 designed by architect Jiří Herzán in the style of progressive Brutalism, inspired by the Expo 58 period. The interior and exterior are largely preserved in their original state, including artworks and furnishings undergoing gradual restoration. It is one of the few objects where authenticity is maintained to such an extent while the building still serves its original purpose.
