ArtCafé: Číro na důchod - Vébrová, Václavek, Tichý
Vladimír Václavek, Jana Vébrová, Petr Tichý - Číro na důchod
Under this name, three distinctive personalities of the Czech music scene have come together in a new ensemble built on playfulness, joy and wildness. The foundation of their music is sparkling harmonies of songs, meditative soundscapes of improvisations and imaginative, poetic lyrics - music without boundaries, free and raw, yet fragile and stripped bare.
Jana Vébrová (vocals, janatron) is a singer and songwriter who has collaborated with groups such as Dunaj, Divadlo Komedie, the ensemble Lenka Vágnerová & Company (whose production La Loba won the Herald Angel Award at Edinburgh Fringe Festival), the contemporary music ensemble Agon Orchestra and the group Činna.
Vladimír Václavek (guitar, vocals) is a musician and composer, collaborator of Iva Bittová, with whom he recorded the album Bílé inferno. He is a founding member of the bands Dunaj, Čikori and the international formation Rale, and previously performed with the French dance group Kubilai Khan Investigations. He is a two-time recipient of the Anděl Award from the Academy of Popular Music.
Petr Tichý (double bass, vocals) is a jazz double bassist, composer and improviser. He studied at Berklee College of Music Certificate (Bruno Raberg, Greg Hopkins) and the jazz department of HAMU. He collaborates with numerous jazz ensembles, including Hlaskontrabas Oktet, in a duo with Rodina Ahmedová, with Saša Yasinski Trio and NTS Trio.
