Litomyšl Fest 2026
A summer film and music festival in Litomyšl combining over 80 films from around the world with 12 concerts by Czech music stars. Running from 29 July to 2 August in the historic city centre.
Vltava is a Prague-based band founded in 1986 by singer, guitarist and actor Robert Nebřenský. Over the decades the group built a cult following on the Czech alternative scene, blending rock, jazz, swing and funk with poetic, surrealist-tinged lyrics. Their landmark album Marx Engels Beatles (1998) earned a Czech Grammy nomination and became one of the most celebrated records of the post-revolution era, with the title track famously featured in Jan Hřebejk's film Pupendo. After a hiatus from 2003 to 2010, the band returned and released their seventh studio album Spass muss immer sein in 2022, earning a nomination for Group of the Year at the Anděl Awards.
The cult album Marx Engels Beatles (1998) was first released on vinyl as a luxury 2LP reissue with remastered sound and a previously unreleased bonus track.
Vltava will present the reissue of the Marx Engels Beatles album on vinyl with a concert on Thursday, June 22, 2025.
Vltava performed a concert at the Jazz Tibet Club in Olomouci, which was documented with a photo gallery on the xplaylist.cz website.
For the seventh studio album Spass muss immer sein, Vltava was nominated for the Ceny Anděl 2022 award in the Band of the Year category.
The band presented the new album Spass muss immer sein at the Prague Jazz Dock in January 2023.
