Merkfolk is a Polish folk metal band from Międzyrzec Podlaski, active since 2013. Founded by siblings Irmina and Rafał Frąckiewicz - guitar and drums respectively - the band weaves accordion and violin into heavy metal, drawing lyrical themes from Slavic mythology and pagan tradition. Their four albums span from The Folk Bringer (2015) to the 2026 release Anabiosis, all on Art of the Night Productions.
Merkfolk released their fourth studio album Anabiosis (10 tracks) on the Art of the Night Productions label.
Violinist Katarzyna Nowosadzka, founding member of the band, left the group in 2024.
Merkfolk performed at Folk Metal Night at the VooDoo Club in Warsaw together with the bands Runika and Cronica.
The band performed at the Rusted Axe Folk Fest 2024 festival at the Boss Garage Pub in Krakow.
Merkfolk were nominated for the Wirtualne Gęśli award for 2020, which honors the Polish folk metal scene.
