Folk Metal Pilgrims 2026
Folk metal showcase featuring bands from Poland, Czech Republic and beyond, with a rare performance by legendary Cruadalach.
Cruadalach is a Prague folk metal band founded in 2008 by drummer Michal Rak, formerly of the Czech doom metal act Silent Stream of Godless Elegy. The eight-piece built its sound around electric guitars paired with live folk instruments - violins, shawms, bagpipes and recorders - and shifted stylistically from Celtic-tinged folk metal toward folk metalcore over the years. After three studio albums and extensive European touring, the band played its final shows in Prague and Brno in October 2021.
Cruadalach played their last concert on October 8 and 9, 2021 in Prague and Brno; the band then suspended its activities.
In September 2018, Cruadalach released their third studio album 'Raised by Wolves', recorded at The Barn Production studio.
Cruadalach won the Spark Fresh Blood 2016 band competition, organized by the Czech rock magazine Spark.
In January 2015, the second album 'Rebel Against Me' was released, published with the help of a crowdfunding campaign under the MetalGate label.
The debut album 'Lead - Not Follow' was released in November 2011 by the German publisher Black Bards with a Czech license from MetalGate.
