Cronica is a folk metal band from Jaworzno, Silesia (Poland), active since 2014. The seven-piece group layers heavy guitars with violin, flute, hurdy-gurdy and sopilka, drawing on Slavic and broader European folk traditions - medieval ballads, sailor songs and pagan mythology alike. Their name references the medieval chronicle form, mirroring the historical and legendary themes of their lyrics. Three vocalists cover a range from classical and operatic singing to growl and scream.
Cronica and Runika together set out on a jubilee tour for the 10th anniversary of both bands - with guest Velesar they visited Poznan, Torun, Jaworzno, Krakow, Lublin, Skarżysko-Kamienna and Wroclaw.
The band released the single Woda with an official music video that promoted the 2022 album Ukony.
Cronica performed at Folk Metal Night in Wroclaw alongside the bands Merkfolk and Runika.
