Ladislav Fuks (1923–1994) was a Czech novelist known for psychologically intense fiction exploring themes of the Holocaust, fear, and human cruelty. His novella Spalovač mrtvol (The Cremator, 1967), later adapted into a film by Juraj Herz, is considered one of the key works of Czech literature of the 20th century.
