Dunaj + Načeva
A double concert of two Czech alternative-scene legends: Monika Načeva and her band present a musical project based on poems of persecuted artists, while Dunaj returns after twenty years in their original lineup.
Dunaj are a Czech alternative rock band from Brno, founded in 1986 under the name Kolektiv. Their sound - built on repetitive guitar figures, polyrhythms and evocative lyrics - defined the Brno alternative scene of the 1990s, with frontman Jiří Kolšovský at the helm until his death in 1998. After more than two decades of silence, Vladimír Václavek, Josef Ostřanský and Pavel Koudelka reformed the band in 2019, releasing the comeback album Za vodou in 2022 and, with new vocalist Jana Vébrová, the album Mňau in April 2025.
Dunaj and Jana Vébrová released a music video for the single Ilegální tanečnice from the album Mňau; the video was shot by Jan Dufek at a public rehearsal in the Lusatian Mountains.
On April 18, 2025, a new album Mňau was released on the Animal Music label, on which Dunaj collaborated for the first time with singer Jana Vébrová.
The band announced the release of the album Mňau and launched a crowdfunding campaign on the Donio platform, which was supported by fans.
After a twenty-four-year hiatus, Dunaj released a comeback album Za vodou on the Animal Music label, featuring Iva Bittová as a guest on five tracks.
Along with the album Za vodou, a compilation Dunaj Reloaded - The Best Of 1988-1996 was released, showcasing the band's best works from the first era.
