Der Weg einer Freiheit is a German black metal band from Würzburg, founded in 2009 by guitarist, vocalist and principal songwriter Nikita Kamprad. Signed to Season of Mist, the band occupies a space between atmospheric black metal, post-metal and progressive structures, with German-language lyrics centred on despair, inner transformation and human fragility. Their sixth studio album Innern, released in September 2025, was widely praised as among the most accomplished work of their career.
The band released their sixth studio album Innern on September 12, 2025 through the Season of Mist label; the album consists of six tracks and was produced by Nikita Kamprad himself.
Nikita Kamprad released a vocal playthrough video for the single 'Marter' from the album Innern, which the band shared on September 1, 2025.
In April 2025, the band announced an autumn European headliner tour featuring 15 stops, including Prague (September 20, Rock Café).
In November 2024, the band announced four final headliner shows as part of the Noktvrn cycle, including a guest appearance by The Devil's Trade and a collaborative track 'Immortal'.
