About the venue

The neo-baroque building on Ostrožná Street was designed by Viennese architect Rudolf Eisler for a branch of the Austro-Hungarian Bank and completed in 1918; it served banking purposes until 2005. After the city bought it and carried out a reconstruction in 2008-2009, it became home to the Opava Cultural Organisation. Today it houses the multi-genre Klub Art, the Burghers' Hall, an art gallery, the permanent city-history exhibition Cesta města, and a café with a summer terrace.
