About the venue

Galerie Dukla opened in 2018 in the arcade of the former Dukla cinema on Hlavní třída in Ostrava-Poruba - the cinema ran from 1960 until it closed in 2002. The space is open around the clock: works of contemporary art are displayed in vitrines that once held film posters. Four exhibitions a year are complemented by workshops, lectures and the music series Limity hudby. The programme deliberately engages with the local Poruba context and favours site-specific projects.
