About the venue

Ostravar Aréna is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the Vítkovice district of Ostrava, opened in 1986. It is the home venue of ice hockey club HC Vítkovice Ridera and holds up to 12,500 spectators, ranking it among the largest arenas in the Czech Republic. The arena hosted the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in 2004, 2015 and 2024, and regularly stages the Ostrava Open WTA tennis tournament. It has carried the Ostravar Aréna name since 2016, after the local Ostravar Brewery.
