Dusíkovo divadlo

Čáslav

About the venue

Dusíkovo divadlo is one of the oldest stone theatres in Bohemia, opened on 28 February 1869 - predating the National Theatre in Prague. It is named after Čáslav-born composer and pianist Jan Ladislav Dusík (1760-1812). The building, designed by Josef Spudil, is a listed cultural monument; after a devastating fire in 1923 it was rebuilt, and a further reconstruction in 2021-2022 added a historic small stage. The main auditorium seats 443 and hosts theatre performances, concerts and exhibitions.
