About the venue

František Tesař (1936-2022) was a native of Čáslav who worked as an art mosaicist, restorer of historic mosaics and painter. Holder of the Master of Craft title, he ran the Prague mosaic studio of the Centre for Applied Arts until it closed in 1993 and contributed to around 400 mosaic designs. The exhibition of his work is held in the gallery hall of the Čáslav Municipal Museum and Library on Žižkovo náměstí, showing both mosaic art and figurative paintings and drawings.
