About the venue

Dům kultury in Kroměříž is a city-run cultural centre occupying a large complex along Tovačovského street. The building was constructed by volunteers in the 1960s on the site of a synagogue destroyed during the war, then gradually rebuilt after the devastating 1997 floods. Seven halls with a combined capacity of over 1,500 seats host theatre performances, concerts, balls, dance courses and exhibitions. The organisation also runs the Nadsklepí cinema, Klub Starý pivovar and the Karel Kryl exhibition.
