Pianists and composers Ondřej Brzobohatý and Ondřej Brousek perform together on the stage of the House of Culture in Kroměříž. Lifelong friends have prepared an evening with two pianos, whose main ingredient is musical humor.

How would "Fate" sound if Beethoven were an optimist? Why do we cry at banal film dialogue? What is "inappropriate" music? And can a "Battle of the Pianos" have a winner? The Brousek - Brzobohatý duo answers these questions directly on stage.

The concert is performed on a W. HOFFMANN Professional P206 piano, with C. Bechstein as the event partner (www.bechstein.com).

About the venue: House of Culture Kroměříž

Dům kultury in Kroměříž is a city-run cultural centre occupying a large complex along Tovačovského street. The building was constructed by volunteers in the 1960s on the site of a synagogue destroyed during the war, then gradually rebuilt after the devastating 1997 floods. Seven halls with a combined capacity of over 1,500 seats host theatre performances, concerts, balls, dance courses and exhibitions. The organisation also runs the Nadsklepí cinema, Klub Starý pivovar and the Karel Kryl exhibition.

About: Ondřej Brzobohatý

Born on 2 February 1983 in Prague, Ondřej Gregor Brzobohatý is a multifaceted Czech artist trained at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in composition, piano and conducting. The son of actor Radoslav Brzobohatý and Slovak actress Hana Gregorová, he gained initial recognition as host of the first Czech Pop Idol season in 2004. His primary focus remains composition work - creating musicals, film scores and solo recordings - alongside regular performances with symphony orchestras and partnerships with major Czech musicians.

About: Ondřej Brousek

Born on 28 March 1981 in Prague, Ondřej Brousek is a Czech actor, musician, composer and director belonging to the renowned Brousek acting family. He completed his music-drama studies at the Prague Conservatory and has performed as keyboardist with Monkey Business since 1999, while serving as an ensemble member of Divadlo na Vinohradech from 2013 onwards. His compositional work encompasses stage music, film scores and symphonic compositions, including three symphonies premiered in Prague, Zlín and the Municipal House; he also performs with Ondřej Gregor Brzobohatý in the two-piano programme "Souboj klavírů", which merges classical music with comedy and improvisation.
