About the venue

Květná zahrada - also known as Libosad - is an early Baroque garden laid out in the formal French style, built between 1665 and 1675 on the orders of Bishop Karl von Liechtenstein-Castelkorn. The Italian architects Filiberto Luchese and Giovanni Pietro Tencalla drew up the plans. Its two landmarks are a 244-metre colonnade lined with antique sculptures and an octagonal rotunda housing a Foucault pendulum. Together with Kroměříž Castle and the Podzámecká garden, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1998 and is considered the only surviving ensemble of its kind in Europe. The garden regularly hosts exhibitions, concerts and festivals.
