Antonín Dvořák Theatre

Ostrava

About the venue

The Antonín Dvořák Theatre is a neo-baroque building on Smetanovo náměstí in Ostrava, ceremonially opened on 28 September 1907. Until 1919 it staged performances exclusively in German; it then became the permanent home of the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre. The building has carried its current name since 1990 and, after reconstruction, seats 517 in its auditorium. It hosts opera, drama, and ballet productions.
