EPO1 Centre for Contemporary Art occupies the former Poříčí 1 coal-fired power plant, built in 1912-1914 on the eastern edge of Trutnov. After extensive renovation it opened in May 2023 as the largest private gallery in the Czech Republic, with 3,400 m² of exhibition space. The turbine hall retains its original steel structures and two working overhead cranes that can handle multi-tonne sculptures. The Fresh Power project builds a collection of works by the youngest generation of sculptors, while a permanent exhibition covers the history of the Poříčí power plant.
