About the venue

A cubist villa built in 1912-1914 to a design by Josef Gočár for landowner Adolf Bauer - the only cubist villa in a rural setting anywhere in the world. The cubist vocabulary is most visible in the star-shaped window frames and the slanted main cornice. Since 2025 the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague has managed the building and opened an exhibition of cubist furniture and applied art by Hofman, Janák, Gočár, Machoň and the Artěl cooperative.
