Everybody Cries
Theatre Husa na Provázku, Brno
I took a hot shower. For the first time since that event, I could stand on my feet. That man simply smiled at me. I got on the wrong train. My brother took my hand. I was in the right place at the right time. It must have been because of the sign on the opposite wall. I started screaming at the top of my lungs. Just when I wanted to end it all, "Everybody Hurts" started playing on the radio.
In a time when global certainties are shaken, fear, anxiety, and doubt reign. But what if someone just turned on the light in the opposite window? Can shared pain unite - can shared faith in a better tomorrow do it too? "In the darkest nights, remember the sun," Jiří Mahen once urged. The production rehabilitates the word "hope" and waits for the moment when the first ray pierces the darkness.
This time, the audience and their stories will be the script. Throughout the season, the theatre collects them and at the end transforms them into an evening celebrating the courage not to give up. Under the direction of Jan Mikuláš, the actors themselves cannot escape - they dare to share the painful moments of their own lives, because simply #everybodyhurts.
