Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

Directed by Chris Columbus in collaboration with author J. K. Rowling, this film brings the magical world of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to the screen.

The story of the Philosopher's Stone follows Harry Potter, an orphan whose parents mysteriously died shortly after his birth. Harry grows up with his uncle Vernon and aunt Petunia, who make it clear he is not welcome in their home. On his eleventh birthday, however, he receives a letter that changes everything - Harry discovers he is a wizard and becomes a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. But even there, life is far from peaceful, especially as his mysterious past begins to awaken and the shadow of Lord Voldemort looms.
