Connecting/Stations

A site-specific contemporary dance performance will transform Ostrava's main railway station into a living stage.

The project "Connecting/Stations" was created through a collaboration between the Slovak collective Tanečno and the Czech association MOVE Ostrava. Contemporary dance brings art directly to travellers - into the station halls where hundreds of strangers pass each other daily, regardless of age, origin, or belief. The concept was created by Slovak choreographer and performer Andrej Štepita, who noticed during his travels in search of culture that such places offer a natural space for art. The choreography is based on everyday movement and partner dance work - it does not tell stories, but experiences them together with the audience.

Tickets operate on a voluntary contribution principle "Pay what you can" - each person chooses from the offered prices according to their own means.
