Arrietty and the World of the Borrowers

Tiny people called Borrowers live hidden within the walls and under the floorboards of human homes, taking what they need from the larger inhabitants around them. Young Arrietty lives with her parents in a house where a boy named Sho is visiting his grandmother. On the day of his arrival, Arrietty sets out on her first adventure into the world of the big people, accompanied by her father.

The film is based on the internationally popular series by British author Mary Norton, published in Czech as Pidilidi. The screenplay was written by Miyazaki, and the animation was directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi, who previously worked on most Studio Ghibli productions starting with Princess Mononoke.
