Australian Spike Fuck performs in Ostrava for the first time.

Melbourne-based Spike Fuck existed for a decade more as a chaotic myth than as an artist - sporadic works forever teetering on the edge of triumph, rumours of death or madness. Spike's entry into music in 2015 served cultural fantasy more than any overarching ambition: a would-be pop star in cosplay, trapped by his own means, his melancholy woven through unlikely cultural circles. His sole work, the EP The Smackwave (Partisan Records), tackled subjects as literal as the title suggests - drug use, gender identity, religion, existentialism. Shortly after its release, he was swept up in a whirlwind of unexpected success: moving from underground warehouse parties to high fashion, editorial shoots, and interviews brimming with uncensored details about his own life.

In 2024, Spike returned after a four-year hiatus - sober, clear-eyed, and transformed. He no longer performs alone with backing tracks, but leads a rotating full band. Together they embody 1970s glamour, spiritual soul, and battered rock'n'roll, always tempered by Spike's distinctive, weathered, and poetic voice.
