Family Opera: Mendel Megaking – Preview II

A chamber opera inspired by the life of Gregor Johann Mendel, founder of genetics. The story unfolds in a contemporary primary school, where Mendel symbolically "rises from the dead" as the school caretaker Jandl, and pupils join him in adventures connected to his research in the school garden. Mendel's story is seen through the eyes of thirteen-year-old adolescents, and the production is designed for both children and adults.

The entire realization – production, set design, costumes, direction, principal roles, and orchestra – is provided by a team of students from the Faculty of Music at JAMU in Brno.
