Family Opera: Mendel Megaking – Preview I.

A chamber opera inspired by the life of Gregor Johann Mendel, the founder of genetics. The story unfolds in a contemporary primary school, where Mendel symbolically "rises from the dead" as the school caretaker Jandl, and students embark on adventures connected to his research in the school garden. Mendel's story is told through the eyes of thirteen-year-old teenagers, and the opera is intended for both children and adults.

The entire production – including direction, set design, costumes, casting, and orchestra – is created by a team of students from the Faculty of Music at JAMU in Brno.
