Labyrinth: Landscape of Inner Wandering

GHMP Zámek Troja, Prague

0–450 CZK · ≈ 19 €

Labyrinth works with the metaphor of human thought and life's journey – symbolizing wandering, transformation, and responsibility for human actions and words. The exhibition asks what happens when fear of the unknown, difference, or misunderstanding begins to decide instead of reason. Central themes include generalization and dehumanization, individual responsibility in modern society, and the power of words and their impact on human dignity.

The exhibition features works by several personalities of the contemporary Czech art scene. Vojtěch Hrubant's Relief Evolution explores human wandering through the labyrinth of one's own decisions and the question of conformity. Veronika Homolová created the illustration Map of Fear, confronting visitors with their fears and phobias. Tereza Bartůňková is the author of the installation Spring, working with darkness, mirrors, and the viewer's encounter with themselves. Dominik Styk's works Growth Protocol and Naked Roots reflect the influence of environment on human formation and threats of dehumanization.

Eva Koťátková creates a space of care, inclusion, and mutual support in her Machine for Restoring Empathy. Eva Palčič's object Memory of a Procession addresses communication, traditions, and human connection in secularized society. Matouš Lipus is the author of the sculpture Atlas, symbolizing the burden of responsibility and the weight of human decisions. Klára Samcová presents textile works addressing menstruation, gender roles, and social expectations associated with female experience. The exhibition closes with a video by Hedvika Hlaváčková, which questions rigid categories of masculinity and femininity and reflects on the absurdity of stubborn adherence to gender stereotypes.
