Dasha and the Epoque Quartet perform in Ostrava at DK Poklad, Matěje Kopeckého 675/21, Ostrava-Poruba on Wednesday, 9 September 2026 at 19:00. The concert is part of the artist's tour across the Czech Republic. DK Poklad, a building in classical style with elements of Brussels architecture, was built in December 1961 as part of the development of New Ostrava and has been registered as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic since 2009. The venue is located in Poruba, one of Ostrava's most distinctive districts.

About the venue: DK Poklad

The DK Poklad house of culture in Ostrava-Poruba opened in December 1961 as part of the New Ostrava development and has been a listed cultural monument since 2009. The building, designed by architects Jiří Petrusiak, Čeněk Vorel and František Michališ in a classicising style with Brussels-style elements, features a sculptural group called Nový věk by Jan Kavan on its main façade. After a major renovation completed in August 2021, it offers a theatre hall for 400, a mini-cinema, a ballroom, and the open-air Amfi amphitheatre behind the building with 1,700 seats. Theatre, cinema, concerts and the venue's own festivals - including Amfifest and the food festival Velká žranice - all take place here.

About: Dasha

Dasha (born Dagmar Sobková on 27 June 1981 in Zlín) is a Czech singer and musical theatre performer working across pop, soul, funk, jazz and musical theatre. She completed her studies at the Prague State Conservatory and trained at Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2005. She spent over two decades performing as a backing vocalist with Karel Gott and received the Thalia Award in 2010 for her portrayal of Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar. She is recognized by audiences through the television programme StarDance and the crossover projects Dasha Symphony and Ellaboration, both tributes to Ella Fitzgerald.

About: Epoque Quartet

Epoque Quartet is a Prague string quartet founded in 1999, known for crossing genre boundaries between classical music, jazz, funk and world music. In 2020 it won the Classic Prague Award in the crossover category. Together with singer Dasha, the quartet created the Ellaboration project - a fresh take on the repertoire of Ella Fitzgerald.
