Janny Richter | Housekeepers
Janny Richter is an energetic frontman and musical visionary at the intersection of country blues, Americana, indie rock, and electropop. He won the main prize at the 2025 Soundtrack Poděbrady festival for his acclaimed score to the series Metoda Markovič: Hojer. His current album Discobilly is a manifesto of his own musical direction, blending rock'n'roll, electro-pop, indie, and country into one pulsing whole that transcends genre boundaries with wit and originality. As Moimir Papalescu aptly noted: "Like Bob Dylan who could work with synthesizers." And according to Michal Kořán: "Elvis meets Depeche Mode here."
Housekeepers is a Czech-Irish duo of Adéla Polka (vocals) and Will O'Connor (synthesizers, guitar) that transforms everyday domestic reality into original electronic pop full of emotion, wit, and humor. The project emerged quietly during English lessons and collaborative songwriting. All recordings so far have been made in kitchens, with Will O'Connor handling the mix and American sound engineer Carl Saff doing the mastering. Housekeepers' songs tell stories of small and large dramas unfolding between pots, mirrors, trash cans, and in the human mind. Their music could be playfully called "electro for home life" - a blend of electronics, emotion, and irony that takes everyday life seriously just enough to make fun of it. The duo made their live debut in 2023 at Kumst in Brno and have since performed at events like Olodvorek and MikuLOVE.
