SILENTIUM! brings the Michna and Monteverdi programme to Valašské Meziříčí on Wednesday, 23 September 2026 at the Evangelický kostel. The concert is part of the ninth season of the Bacha na Mozarta! festival and presents works from a fresh angle - Michna as a composer of larger-scale pieces from the Sacra et Litaniae cycle. The ensemble performs alongside Czech Ensemble Baroque under conductor Roman Válek. Valašské Meziříčí is one of nine Czech dates on the tour, with the majority of performances taking place in Brno.

About the venue: Evangelický kostel

The Evangelical church of the Czech Brethren stands in the Botanika park in Valašské Meziříčí. The modernist building with a square tower was constructed in 1908-1909 by local builder J. Demel to a design by Croatian architect Leo Kalda, and is connected to a parsonage decorated with simple sgraffito. Since 1989, a relief by artist Barbora Veselá depicting scenes from Jesus's parables has adorned the front wall behind the pulpit. The complex was listed as a cultural monument in 1997 and today hosts regular services, ecumenical gatherings, and concerts of sacred music.

Born in 2025 from Tereza Válková's years of experience in historically informed performance, the ensemble quickly earned a place at leading Czech festivals. Its programmes range from Renaissance madrigals and Baroque cantatas to modern-day premieres of long-forgotten Moravian composers.
