Spirituál Kvartet brings a Christmas concert to Brno's Musilka on Friday, 11 December 2026. The Musilka folk house in the Husovice neighbourhood has roots in the 1920s, when it served local amateur theatre groups. This concert is one of three Czech dates the ensemble is performing this year. Spirituál Kvartet unites members of the original band with new musicians, presenting traditional and original repertoire in fresh arrangements.

About the venue: Musilka

Lidový dům Musilka is a community cultural venue in the Husovice district of Brno, with roots going back to the 1920s when it served local amateur theatre groups. Today it is managed by the Kulturní středisko Omega, a public organisation established by the Brno-sever municipal district. The venue hosts concerts, balls, courses and social events year-round for audiences from across Brno.

About: SPIRITUÁL KVARTET

Spirituál kvartet was established in late 2021 by Jiří Holoubek, a former member of the legendary Spirituál kvintet. The ensemble features singer Veronika Součková, multi-instrumentalist Zbyněk Bureš and guitarist Jan Janda, all connected to the predecessor band. While honoring the legacy of one of the Czech Republic's most significant 20th-century folk acts, the group pursues its own musical direction through compositions that the kvintet never recorded. In February 2026, their debut album received a gold record.

About: Jiří Holoubek

Jiří Holoubek (born 1975, Prague) is a Czech guitarist, singer, flautist and radio presenter on Český rozhlas Dvojka. He trained as a concert flautist at the Military Conservatory in Roudnice nad Labem and co-founded the bluegrass band Reliéf before joining Spirituál kvintet in 2004, where he stayed until the group disbanded in 2021. He then helped establish Spirituál kvartet, which carries on the folk legacy of its predecessor.

About: Zbyněk Bureš

Zbyněk Bureš is a Czech musician, singer and songwriter rooted in bluegrass and country. He plays banjo, dobro and steel guitar, and hosts a bluegrass show on Country Radio. He grew up surrounded by his father's bluegrass and country records, with banjo and dobro captivating him from an early age. In Spirituál kvartet he performs alongside former Spirituál kvintet members Jiří Holoubek and Veronika Součková.
