Esferas Quartet performs in Chomutov on Tuesday, 22 September 2026 at the Church of St. Ignatius with a programme combining compositions by Queen with melodies from celebrated films. The concert presents a new project where arrangements of popular hits meet film music adapted for string quartet. This is one of three Czech dates on the ensemble's autumn tour. The church interior provides an apt setting for this blend of classical music and familiar melodies in fresh arrangement.

About the venue: Church of St. Ignatius

The early Baroque church of St. Ignatius of Loyola stands on náměstí 1. máje as part of a large Jesuit complex. It was designed by Italian architect Carlo Lurago and built between 1663 and 1668. After the Jesuit order was dissolved in 1773, the church served as a garrison chapel; it fell into disrepair after 1948 and only reopened following a restoration in the 1990s. Today it is managed by the Chomutovská knihovna and hosts exhibitions, concerts and guided tours. It has been a listed cultural monument since 1958.
